Introducing Dressup Games

July 6th, 2011

Dressup games are something your school age daughter likely knows all about, but you might feel a bit in the dark when it comes to these fashion games. Dress up games are simply a more grown-up version of the games your child has been playing forever. Playing these games lets your daughter test her limits when it comes to fashion, design and even basic creativity. After all, there are not many games left that encourage your child to do things in her own way as opposed to meeting the expectations of the designers and other players.

Playing Dressup Games

Understanding dress up games is simple enough. To play the games, you select a doll from a usually large selection. There are dolls of every kind available. Your child might be dressing elves on day, Bratz the next and celebrities on the third. There is an almost endless supply of characters to dress. Once you have your basic game loaded, the actual challenge begins – to create fashion.

It starts of simple enough. Add a pair of pants and top. But then you need shoes and to use the right shoes you’ll have to change your jeans to another option putting you right back at square one. It is a balancing act between using everything you want to have and pushing to remember that you do not necessarily get it all done beautifully the first time you try playing the fashion games.

Benefits of Dressup Games

The benefits of the games tend to be both clear and a bit obscure. Playing dress up games helps children become more creativity. Creativity is a huge asset in all fields of study, but sadly it is disappearing in children as they grow older and move through the grades in school. But playing games outside of school that encourage creativity might be exactly what your child needs to retain the creativity that is innate to all of us in early childhood and even foster new forms of creativity as they grow in their skills relating to the games.

Playing Dressup Games

When you sit down to play fashion games, you are able to do so without any lengthy commitment of time. It takes only minutes to pull a new fashion doll together if you work quickly, and then you might be done with the doll. The beauty of the games is the many things you can do with the doll after the fact, however. Submit her to one of the many contests available on line or complete her story for your own records. Share her with friends, discuss her on a message board or just print her out to use again another time on a poster of some kind. The more dolls you create over time, the more enjoyable the games will become. Girls that enjoy the games know this and often play for long stretches creating one doll after another simply for the pure joy of it.
